My new favourite podcast is Permission Not Required, by Colleen Schnettler and Joe Masilotti (both prominent figures in the Ruby / Rails worlds). It comes at the perfect time as I'm on the same journey of figuring out how to build wealth (while remaining independent) in the age of AI. They share their weekly plans, wins, losses, and don't sugarcoat stuff. It's heartening to know that these people I idolise don't have everything figured out, too. I always thought they were at least 10 steps ahead of me, but they are struggling with the same things I am.
Done today:
✓ Completed all automation tutorials, including agentic workflows
✓ Studied other people's Upwork profiles to see how to improve mine
✓ Went through submissions for Best SaaS Boilerplates (I really need to automate this, it is becoming a chore)
✓ Morning walk + chest workout
BTW this blog needs a search function. Mainly for me, so I can find and reference older posts. But for you also, so you can catch me out on something I said before and forgot about. 🙂🙃 I'm going to use the best in class, Typesense, and will work on it whenever there are pockets of time in the next few days.
I've just started a good momentum and want to keep it going. This means no more overtime, otherwise it only leads to burnout. So here's me ending the day on time, and off to cook some lobster fried rice. Cheerio!
