// Less Traffic More Money

KP asked me how's the traffic to one of my directory sites. Honest answer - not as good as before. Used to average 10K page views a month. Now it's half of that.

Oddly, I started making more money with less traffic. Mostly from affiliate links, but also some sponsorships. 

I don't know what changed. And I don't know how to explain it to potential sponsors. What do I say to them? Like "Okay traffic is shite but people are now more likely to click and buy, don't ask me why " ?

Some thoughts:
  • The site has been around longer now (1¾  years), and getting organic traffic on its own.
  • More "qualified leads" as we say in B2B. Because traffic is organic, it means visitors are people who are actually searching for the solution.

Previously there was higher traffic, but not necessarily "qualified", because I was constantly marketing the site on Reddit and X and launch platforms.

Does that make sense?
