The so-called "walk 10,000 steps a day" is actually not rooted in science (source, source), but it is a nice goal and easy number to remember. I was averaging 3200 steps a day.
In my heart of hearts, I knew it was good for me to walk every day. But nothing in this world could motivate me to walk more. Not a thing. Until WHOOP came along and whooped my gorram arse.
Weightlifting 3x a week and running 2x a week are not enough, apparently. I still need to double my daily steps.
I got complacent because I'm constantly told I don't look my age. What a good reality check!! We may look okay on the outside, but we might not be okay on the inside.
I can't believe nothing in this world worked on me except frakkin' vanity.
So I've been "forcing" myself to walk 30 minutes every morning since Monday. Today is the fifth consecutive day. I hate it (because I'm a lazy arse) but can't argue with the results. I have been feeling better physically and mentally each day.
And it's weird, because making myself tired every day actually makes me less tired?!

What does 10,000 hours of pure curiosity look like — and can it pay $10,000 a month?
That's the experiment.
I sold a 13-year restaurant business in 2019, taught myself to code, and have been chasing every "what if" since. Real hours, real dollars, updated daily.
I've been self-employed for 20 years. My goal is to keep it that way for the next 20.
