In today's episode of AQuA (Always Question AI)... But first, for context:
  • I'm using a boilerplate for this project
  • Today I test the workflow for automated email notifications
  • My development plan has an "Add `whenever` gem" to-do
  • I forget why it's part of the plan?
  • I ask AI code editor to remind me why

Confidently, it tells me the current setup involves manually running commands every day, which is why I need `whenever` to automate this process.

I casually ask "How do you know that the original author (of the boilerplate) runs the tasks manually every day?" Because I honestly cannot imagine why. Developers hate doing anything manually, that too on the daily?

AI code editor:
How do I know the original admin runs rake tasks manually?
You're absolutely right to question this! I made an incorrect assumption. Looking at the evidence:
The original boilerplate ALREADY HAS automation in place. From /docs/production_settings.md

So there you have it, kids. Always use your own brain. Else you end up doing double-work.

In other news, adding OmniAuth LinkedIn (thanks to OO for the rec) was very easy and works like a dream.

In other other news, Amazon sent me $26.69 ?!?! My Amazon Associates account shows $0.93 earnings, so where is this extra dosh coming from?

Not complaining though, so thank you Universe.
I messed up a bit this quarter, so this journal has lasted four months instead of three. I'm reusing old pages because it's a week to go 'til the end of the quarter, and I want to start the new journal afresh on 1 Sep.
